Launa Lee Izatt Ludeman, 52, of Boise, Idaho, beloved wife, mother and friend passed away on Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at home following a most courageous and valiant challenge with cancer. Launa was born May 30, 1956 in Afton, Wyo., the second of seven children born to Stanley and Mona Izatt. Launa grew up in beautiful Star Valley, Wyoming. She loved spending time playing with her siblings and many cousins. In her youth, a favorite pastime was playing in the sawdust hill at the family sawmill. Launa was very close to her family and times with her siblings were always full of much laughter and fun. A life long member of the Christ of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she attended Ricks College and BYU following high school, majoring in pre-law. She served a mission to Columbus, Ohio from 1978 to 1980. Launa met Dale while attending BYU. They were married July 3, 1987 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. Following their marriage they moved to Detroit, Michigan where Launa and Dale started their family. Launa's true love was her family, and her most important calling was being a mother to her six children. She loved snuggling them as babies, playing with them as young children, and spending time talking with them as teenagers. Launa was a wonderful wife and mother, whose kindness extended to all. Launa was a friend to all. She knew no stranger and always made one feel like she had all the time in the world to talk with them. Launa has always had a testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Her faith and knowledge of her Savior's love, has always been an anchor to her and her family. Launa is survived by her husband, Dale; sons, Ken, Cameron, Kyle, and Conner daughters, Kerianne and Christie all at home. She leaves behind her father, Stanley Izatt (Sandra) of Star Valley, Wyo.; brothers, Layne (Colleen) Izatt of Orem, Utah, Drew (Lesliann) Izatt of Star Valley, Wyo., Derk (Lee), of Star Valley, Wyo.; sisters, Paula (Scott) Heiner of Green River, Wyo., Airica (Michael) Fluckinger of Star Valley, Wyo. mother and father-in-law, Ivan and Marian Ludeman, Casper, Wyo. Debra (Robert) Weston, West Jordan, Utah. Launa was preceded in death by her mother, Mona Izatt, and her sister Allison Izatt. The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at MSTI, Four Rivers Hospice, as well as family and friends for the compassion and care of our wife and mother.
